Given the frequent occurrence of typhoons during the summer, the following principles apply if a thesis defense is scheduled and coincides with a typhoon:

1. If Taipei City announces a suspension of work and classes on the day of the defense, the thesis defense may be conducted via synchronous video conferencing.
2. If Taipei City maintains normal operations but some of the defense committee members are in areas where work and classes are suspended, those committee members may participate via synchronous video conferencing, while the remaining members conduct the defense in person.
